Chelsea Goodwin found some creatures in the shallows and proposed that they make something not too deep together. Women working between worlds, communicating from overlapping ecotones.
Marie Yoho Dorsey is informed by her study of Sogetsu Ikebana. Her work begins in drawing and unfolds through cycles of marking, erasure, and return. As an artist concerned with memory and the instability of records, she does not expect much of what is created to endure. Like the ephemeral nature of flower arrangement, the work exists through continual change. What survives is often unexpected.
Julie Patarin-Jossec of The Resistant Muscle, is a multimedia artist and sociologist whose practice explores queer and multispecies relationships with aquatic environments. Working across moving images, performance, fieldwork, sound, and experimental imagery, she develops projects that question extractive ways of seeing. Born in France, Julie is based in Chicago
Toung Anh (Kim) Millspaugh makes mulitmedia works, layered, pulled apart, constructed and woven. Drawing from the discrepancies in the language we speak from what we hear, to the language we read visually or tactically, and the confusion of translating anything into our own personal meaning Her interpretations become a flow state of line and form.
Mariah Karson is an artist from Chicago working in the Azores Archipeligo. Her most current project takes her to the shores of the Islands, photographing transcendent portraits of people transformed by the landscape.

About this project
Our collaborative publishing practice is a confluence of photography, art, and feminist research through zines and small-edition printed works.
Working across artistic practice and feminist environmental theory, we explore edge effects where water passes, materials, collaborators, and political forces. Our publications examine aquatic environments through feminist and multispecies perspectives, foregrounding practices of care and embodiment.
In our work, the printed page becomes a site for experimentation where images, text, and alternative photographic processes coexist. Our publications invite slower forms of attention to rivers, lakes, oceans, and the communities—human and more-than-human—that inhabit them.
